SwitchVPN Installation on Windows

Step 1 - Download and Run Installer
Click Here to Download Openvpn Client for Windows ( XP / Vista / Win7 ).If you are using Internet Explorer, a window will appear asking if you wish to Run or Save the file. Click on the Run button, which will start the download process.

Once the download has completed, a security warning window will open asking if you are sure you want to run the software. Click on the Run button to start installing the software

Vista users may get a User Account Control message at this point, saying that an unidentified program wants to access your computer. Click on the Allow button to continue.
Step 2 - Installing Openvpn
The first window you will see after you have succcessfully downloaded and begun running the installer is the setup welcome window, below. Click on Next to start installing the client software.

Follow the instructions given by the installer. Accept the defaults given at each step.
Step 3 - Starting Openvpn Application
Download VPN Configuration Files for VPN Here.
Extract Config.zip to" C:\Program files/Openvpn/config/" Directory and Follow Steps Below.
Once you have successfully installed the OpenVPN client, you will need to start it before connecting to SwitchVPN. Click on Start (or the windows icon if you're running Vista), OpenVPN, then OpenVPN GUI.
Note to Vista/Win7 users: you will need to run the OpenVPN GUI as an Administrator. To configure OpenVPN to run as an Administrator:
1. Click on the "Start" menu (the Windows icon at the bottom-left of your screen), then "All Programs" and "OpenVPN." Right-click on "OpenVPN GUI" and click on "Properties."
2. Click on the "Compatibility" tab of the Properties window and check the "Run this program as an administrator" option. Click on "OK."
3. If OpenVPN is already running (look for the OpenVPN icon in the system tray at the bottom- right of your screen), exit it and re-start before connecting to SwitchVPN. Exit by right-clicking on the icon to bring up the menu and clicking on "Exit."
Step 4 - Connect to SwitchVPN
The OpenVPN client runs as a system tray applet. Once it has started, you will see its icon down at the bottom-right of your screen. The icon looks like two computers, one behind and to the side of another. Before connecting, the screens on the two computers will both be red.

To connect to SwitchVPN, right-click on the applet icon and click on Connect.

The OpenVPN client will then open a login window - enter the username and password you received when you started your subscription.

You will see a status window scroll through technical information as it communicates with our servers and establishes your secure VPN connection.
Once you have connected, the applet icon will turn green and will display a message indicating your connection was successful.

Step 5 - Surf
If you have followed the instructions above, you should now be connected to SwitchVPN and can start using the internet anonymously, securely and privately.
To confirm that SwitchVPN is doing its job, we recommend you visit a site such as www.whatismyip.com , where you should see SwitchVPN's IP address instead of your own.
